Course Overview

Whether you produce house, trance, deep house, trap, or anything in between, there's something in this course for you. If you own a different version of Ozone, you can use the techniques in this course on any previous or newer version of iZotope Ozone.  So if you're looking to upgrade your knowledge of audio mastering, sharpen your mastering skills, or dip your feet in the world of mastering for the first time, this course is exactly what you're looking for.Mastering electronic music is not easy. In fact, it's downright hard as hell. Getting your tracks to sound loud, punchy, rich, full and clean all at the same time can have you pulling your hair out in no-time or worse, abandoning a project altogether.  Luckily, there are so many mastering plugins and tools out there designed to make our lives easier when it comes to mastering our EDM tracks. One of the best plugins to master your tracks is Izotope Ozone. It comes packed with features to help you glue your mix, balance frequencies, add richness and character and get your tracks sounding as loud and proud as the big boys.  In this extensive course, I'll take you through each of Ozone 7's modules and dive deep into the techniques you need to create incredible-sounding masters for any electronic piece you produce. This is a tell-all course that will teach you exactly how i and other mastering engineers work to transform less-than-perfect mixdowns into polished masters ready for the world to enjoy.  You'll learn:
EQ techniques for a cleaner mix, tighter bottom end, and a top end that sparkles
Multi-Band compression for a more balanced track that plays well on any system
Stereo imaging that will result in a wider, richer master that translates well on different systems
Using saturation for extra richness and character
How to get your tracks loud - without unwanted distortion!
Using Ozone's new vintage modules to add vibe and warmth

Great explanations of practically everything in here! I saw that you added an eq after the vintage tape, but I figured whatever you did there was something you probably already explained. I wish you would’ve explained the maximizer, but I’ll follow your footsteps and use it as something to boost the volume until I’m ready to add the vintage limiter.

I learned quite a lot from this course which was very helpful. I do wish we could achieve more maximum loudness.
    Modules thoroughly covered were:
    Vintage EQ
    Stereo Imaging
    Dynamic EQ
    Multiband Dynamics
    Vintage Compressor
    Vintage Tape
    Vintage Limiting

Slightly dabbed with Maximizer but not much.

In his other course: Maximize loudness in EDM, he goes over shaving off the peaks and maximizing volume. That was not covered here so I do not know if I am having those peaks that were so tediously removed in the other course.

It’s not really an EDM mastering course, just a mastering course.
EDM mastering asks for a lot more then is explained in this video.
The used track isn’t an EDM song either.
Also, the mid/side capabilities from the plugins are not mentioned at all.

Overall conclusion: it’s ok (not bad at all) but there’s a lot missing in this tutorial. I can’t call this course a great course and wouldn’t recommend it to be honest. I’ve seen better courses on YouTube.

Edit 27-12-16: Fuad has now also added the mid/side functionality which makes this course better and more complete.

I learned quite a bit through this course. Definitely worth the purchase for mastering with Ozone 7.

Great course. I would say this is at an intermediate level but gave me some great insight to the programs modules. At the money I paid for the course I can not complain.

Thanks Fuad for such a great tutorial, It really teaches a lot . First of all let me tell you, I’ve had watched several tuts before and they got nothing on yours. I just like the way you teach, the way you explain every single module use in this tutorial. As soon as finished the course, I jumped on one of my tracks to practice everything I learned here, and I see such a powerful improvement. Your Master Chain is amazing, I was impressed by how you leave the Vintage Tape and MS EQ at the end, and then glue the mix with the Vintage Limiter. Thanks Once again and of course I’m going to watch it again and again.. Cheers….

Volume difference between voice and song was irritating, but content was great and very well structured.

a Great exposure to what mastering is and how it is done.
Fuad is charismatic, clear, understandable, and the track chosen for the mastering process is also a good example for this.

    Highly recommended!

Another great course from Fuad Murad.I get Fabfilter Course from Fuad and it was great for me.Than I decided to get Ozone 7 course to have alternatives and technics to my mastering skils. After the course I can see that my decition is right.

Now I have the ability to choose from that beautiful plugins to build up much more great ambiance and quality to my tracks.

Now I am gonna continue to get more courses from him.

P.S. : Dont listen people who tells you that mastering is kind of analog or pro thing that you can not manage. After the course you can see and hear the great results..

Very good explanation, nicely done. I really loved to do this course. Interesting subject too 🙂
The only thing i miss, is a small pfd file with some short notes to follow when i’ll master my track.
